Should Apple have progressive growth forever? Won’t people just at some point stop having more money to give them?
Yes, this is one of the fundamental problem with capitalism.
To maintain infinite growth, especially in the short term, corporations must eventually exploit their workers. When these corporations exploit their workers, either by cutting their wages or by laying them off, they make the middle/lower classes poorer, which means people can afford less and less of the corporations’ products, which means profits are doomed to dwindle regardless.
There are unique exceptions to this, such as in the defense industry, where their workers are never the market for their products.
