The verge website designers must have had the same issue.

level 2

The verge always taking shots in the comments in this sub 😂

It was my go-to for quick and easy news on tech. Now however I can’t even read the god damn thing without feeling like I’m on a bad acid trip or something. What other alternatives do we have? Arstechnica?

level 2

Yeah it’s trash.

Just use the Apple News app. It has a Verge feed. Actually makes the content usable.

level 2

Yeah but they overlooked them

level 2

The new design is so atrocious that I’ve removed The Verge from my favourites and check it probably 5% as much as I used to.

level 2

I quite like the redesign. I’m really liking the information density, and less emphasis on pictures everywhere.

It’s much more reserved than the avant garde design of The Outline.

level 2

Tbh I think anyone in this comments section could design a better looking site than The Verge

level 2

I don’t like certain things about it (#000 black homepage background being one), but I think it’s super creative and I’m glad they went with it instead of going too same-y as other news sites.

level 2

It is so confusing to navigate on mobile.

level 2

the designers got fired and rehired again

Apple BNPL barely seems like a thing. You pay it off in 8 weeks. I can buy something on the 1st of the month with my Apple Card and I don’t have to pay it until the last day of the following month, almost 8 weeks later.

You can time purchases and basically get the same time.

level 2

Well this is Apple’s BNPL, where you have to start paying back 2 weeks after your purchase and complete it within 6-8. This is garbage compared to Affirm’s that has many 0% offerings extending several months to even a few years.

level 2

It’s the same as afterpay, which is hugely popular.
