I would be uncomfortable, tbh, and I’m sorry that’s the case. If you look like a guy then my first thought would probably be that there was a guy in the changing room, so I would go into fight or flight mode (as you might in the same scenario, if a guy walked in on you changing, being that you identify as a woman).
I wish it was different. Unfortunately so many of us have had scary experiences with guys that we do have our guard up. I hate open changing rooms at the best of times, so I think it would be that we’re already in a situation where we feel vulnerable, and then for our brains to go, ‘Omg there’s a man here!’ then you may find some women react badly.
I appreciate that makes it difficult for you, and that you are in the same boat we are, not wanting to change in a room full of guys!!!
