Why this subreddit won’t let people ask certain questions and has so many rules?

Because even WITH the rules, there’s an absolute ton of incredibly fucking stupid, trash questions. The point of AskReddit is generating fun conversation and anecdotes, not to help you with your geography homework.

The rules function to keep the sub on track with at least a bare minimum standard of viable topics to talk about.
