What is the worst awkward silence you’ve had?

In college, I went to the library to study with a group of girls in my major. All of them were black, including me. One of the girls, named Montinique (pronounced Mon-Tuh-Neek), walked up to me and asked loudly, “Do you even know my name?” And jokingly, I replied, “Is it Shanequa?!” and started to chuckle and NONE OF THEM LAUGHED. They all just looked at me and said nothing.
