Mine’s solid. I’ve taken it camping quite a few times, and on many, many flights and hotel trips.
The silicon exterior material has held up very well and kept it’s shape, as have the keys. No wear on the edges, and I throw it in the work bag all the time.
I clean it with the occasional wet wipes. Initially I thought it was expensive, but the quality was worth it.
Plus it’s nice being able to charge your iPhone and your iPad at the same time using the extra USB-C port on the keyboard.
You only need to bring one power brick when you travel, and you can also flip roles and use the iPad as a USB battery pack too. Extra convenient for when you are packing light, like camping.
