I just want to know your opinion / what would you do in this situation. Recently I went to someone’s house to stay and I asked the host (who is family) where I can dispose my menstrual pads. She gave me a bag and told me to dispose my pads in there and then throw it out once I leave their house. For the next few days I was disposing off everything in there, obviously I wrapped it well and tied it closed so there would be no hygiene / smell issues. I left their house and once I reach my own house they ask me if my menstrual bag was still in their bathroom. I said yes I forgot to throw it (I genuinely forgot because I was in a rush) and that it was tied up and placed next to the bin. I obviously thought it was not a big deal seeing as it was disposed in the bag and all they had to do was take the bag and put it in the trash outside their house. After I told her this she got mad and called me “uncultured” and that “my mother should’ve trained me better”. I still don’t think this is a big deal and was obviously offended by her comments. I just told her that my mother trained me well and ignored the other messages she sent. It’s obviously ruined my mood, but as a woman would you find it disgusting to throw your guest’s menstrual product bag (sealed properly) if they genuinely forgot to throw it before they left?
