Non-Americans, what’s it like to not worry about mass shootings?

I’m not in school anymore so 🤷🏻‍♀️ but as someone who takes the train to go to a pretty big city everyday, I sometimes worry about terrorism in the train station or the tourist spots I have to go through to get to uni. Also my region gets flooded every other fall, so it keeps you on you toes every time it rains a bit more than usual.
