The International Labour Organization (ILO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Legal and Compliance Officer in Geneva, Switzerland.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Legal and Compliance Officer will perform the following functions:
- Undertake research on regulatory models and comparative legal analysis of statutory laws and other legislation regulating the structure, functions and operations of labour administration and labour inspection institutions, legal incentives for compliance, sanctions, sanctioning procedures, and occupational safety and health legislation.
- Draft technical inputs for global, regional, or country reports covering any of the themes mentioned above.
- Participate in the preparation of technical guidance documents, projects, tools and capacity building materials related to legal frameworks and regulatory models on OSH, labour inspection and labour administration.
- Undertake research and analysis to assist with providing inputs to national law reforms and new legal instruments related to occupational safety and health provisions, labour administration, labour inspection, labour sanctions, or sanctioning procedures.
- Update and manage web-based tools on occupational safety and health legislation and institutions, labour administration, labour inspection and labour law compliance.
- Provide inputs to the assessment of occupational safety and health regulatory frameworks, and statutory laws covering labour administration institutions, including as part of assessments of national systems.
- Assist in developing tools to address gender specificities on OSH legislation and statutory instruments regulating the structure and management of labour administration institutions.
- Assist the Branch in the preparation and organization of workshops and meetings for the development and implementation of strategic compliance plans.
- Prepare internal notes, minutes and other documents requiring the analysis of rules and regulations.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have:
- First level university degree (Bachelors or equivalent) in law.
- Studies on both OSH and labour administration or labour inspection is an advantage.
- 3 years of professional experience working with labour administration, labour inspection or occupational safety and health.
- Excellent command of one working language (English, French or Spanish) of the Organization.
- Working knowledge of another working language is an advantage.
