I and this guy had been good friends for a while now. We had so many similarities, our personalities matched so well and he quickly became my best friend. We had the same sense of humor and we really loved spending time together.
Recently I got to know that he is a Huge Andrew Tate fan and he apparently has very sexist opinions. He said “Men have it worse than women because men have a higher depression suicide rate”. I just reminded him of all the rapes, catcalling, harassment that women go through and also spoke about this very brutal rape incident which happened to a woman and he LITERALLY SAID “SO?? IT’S NOT LIKE IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY. IMAGINE MEN DYING. THERE’S NOTHING WORSE THAN DEATH” and that’s when I decided to cut him off immideatly.
I feel like screaming loudly and try to explain to him about why what he said was one of the worst things anyone could ever say and I want to talk and explain so much. But it isn’t my job to make someone understand what they should already be knowing. That’s like basic human decency.
I just need to hear that cutting him off was the right thing to do because I just lost someone who I thought was a very good friend of mine and I just hate that such a good friendship had to go to waste because he was SHIT.
