I work at a grocery store. Last week I had to report one of my male coworkers for sexual harassment and pretty much everyday one of the men I work with says something weird to me or I’ll catch them staring at me. Even the male customers say weird stuff to me all the time. I’m so uncomfortable around some of my male coworkers that I’ve started carrying pepper spray and a stun gun. I don’t know what I need to do different to get less attention, it’s not like I can change the way I dress because we have to wear uniforms. I honestly just want men to leave me alone.
The jobs I’ve had before were mostly female dominated so getting male attention is a new experience for me. Is this just what we have to deal with as women? Is it just something I have to get used to?
