The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) require major societal transformations that will depend on significant public and private investments.
Companies are among the key stakeholders that can shoulder a fundamental responsibility for accelerating the SDGs implementation process. Companies have the largest share of capital. Therefore, the engagement and actions from companies are critical to achieving SDGs. Agenda 2030 encourages companies to adopt sustainability principles and practices in investment and businesses. More and more companies place great importance on achieving social and environmental sustainability and high impacts for their businesses, while seeking financial sustainability and profitable returns.
Companies can be a vital source of knowledge, expertise, and investment. Their sustainable business practices and trends can significantly boost the efforts towards achieving SDGs, and improve the progress toward achieving all SDGs.
This questionnaire is designed to collect information on companies on their activities, views, practices and processes in implementing SDGs.
