My family is just super anti feminism, they only see the “bad” parts of it, the people who create problems out of nothing, the dramatic people, I’m sure you have an idea of what I mean.
I’m a feminist, I believe in equal rights and opportunities for everyone of ever color, shape, size, race, sex, gender, every human deserves to be treated the same, and everyone deserves human rights.
My family don’t get that. I’ll explain to them what I mean, and they always find a way to literally shit on me, freak out, say it’s this “millennial” “gen z” “anti God” thing goin on in the world which is what makes people feminists, how men And women are different, and I ALWAYS explain it’s not just THAT, it’s human rights, it’s HUMANS, not just men and women. It’s about choice and rights and freedom…
ANYWAY, how do I get over it and embrace it fully? As goofy as it sounds, I want to be able to flaunt it if I feel like it! I love collecting vintage pins, I put them on my bags, and I see cute feminist pins, but I’m too scared to buy and use them…. I just want to be confident about my belief, but living in a place that’s a majority of conservatives/ republicans/ trump lovers / trump worshippers, it’s hard and kind of scary… any advice??? Any books that can even help me learn more so that I can stand my ground better and defend myself and my arguments better?
