Reality of dating apps
-
Pretty privilege – The good looking crowd has it easier to get more matches, there is definitely a huge difference in the many ways they are treated better in society. Looks matter for first impressions but don’t guarantee a long term relationship.
-
Gender roles – Most Indian men are not groomed well, in terms of communication skills with women. The men who speak well and have worked on their looks attract most women and a majority of genuine romantics don’t get a chance.
-
Intent – It’s difficult to be in a relationship, easy to have sex. Everyone wants intimacy, for most lust takes over and being committed is just out of the picture when there’s so much free easy sex available at your fingertips.
-
Safety – Unwanted pregnancies, Open relationships, teenagers exposed to elder men, multiple partners, threesomes, infidelity, casual sex, sugar daddies, couples and unicorns, and idk what more but there’s a high risk of physical and mental illnesses in this clearly dangerous situation of meeting strangers and falling in love or fucking, whatever it means to you. There’s nothing casual about it. It’s not fun if someone is hurting and women suffer the most as we are biologically and socially at a disadvantage than men.
-
Escapism – As a society most people are not self aware for whatever reason, when we haven’t been educated about love or sex from neither schools or family, Desi kids learnt from the internet or media. Where porn is freely accessible, where social media promoted easy private unsupervised communication. Phones promoted photos, videos, e money sharing in split seconds and without prior value imposition on ourselves we are prone to be tempted to pursue their lust over sex/power/money/time…
Love or meaningful relationships in general are very difficult to create. It is difficult to meet the love of your life, and craft a future together. It’s for the courageous. The apps or technology can advance speed but there’s beauty in taking time. To meet someone and give them your best version is divine. Let’s not forget that we are worth a lot more.
