I work in Customer Service/Hospitality in a predominantly male industry.
Looking for good responses to the condescending “Sweetheart/honey/darling”
I am not referring to the older generation who mainly use it as a pet name.
I am referring to the younger pricks who say things like “oh sweetheart, you couldn’t possibly help me with that”
“When does your husband get back, honey, I’ll just wait for him”
“Are you SURE you can do that darling?”
Long story short, most men assume I am just “too cute/weak/girly/young/stupid” to know anything about the business that I own and run with my husband.
Is it justified to be rude right off the bat?
Try to make them feel uncomfortable?
I don’t want to continue to ignore, as it has literally got me absolutely nowhere. I want to be sassy but not outwardly rude.
