Different people are different.
I love women, but I have way more male friends because I spend most of my free time doing male-dominated activities: basketball, surfing, mountain biking, rock climbing. Due simply to representation and availability, I meet a lot more men than women.
Stereotypically, women tend to look for close friends and confidants, whereas men want activity buddies. Since I’m more in the activity buddies camp (I’d rather take you surfing than talk relationships over brunch), this style of friendship works better for me.
But that’s just me. Different people are different.
