Ode to my ancestresses

Sweet counting rhymes Echoing between these walls Warmth carressing me In this shelter of gentleness

In these French fields One thousand cows on this plateau Mountains and sea Forests and meadows

Woman is the origin Traditions keeper They gave me the keys They will protect me forever

Values, ancient tales and heritage The fruit of knowledge shall not be punishable They gave me flesh And I will give my daughters this all

Warden of the gates of past They gave birth and maintained With them the dead is alive With their might I shall elevate

Now they are part of me And I’ll be part of my offspring In them we shall live forever Eternal love makes stronger

Power of life Power of nourrishing Power of healing Power of transmission

Ode to my ancestresses Because giving is the divine feminine essence Ode to my daughters And ode to my sisters
