A man followed me around in the store the other day. He had no cart and no groceries. He was acting very suspicious and was following me wherever I went and didn’t pick up any items. I tried to lose him by going all around the store but It didn’t work. He was staring at me the entire time. I informed an employee and the police.
I also made a post explaining the situation on another app and men are saying “He probably just wanted your number, he was probably security, you probably stole something, etc”, many of them trying to excuse the behavior. They even said I was trying to racially profile him because I mentioned he wasn’t white. Someone even accused me of shoplifting. I just don’t understand.. I was followed in a store, and I speak up about it and then I am the one that’s blamed. Women are always told that we’re paranoid and overreacting. We’re always blamed for predatory behavior. It’s almost like they’re trying to protect eachother.
