It’s okay! Give yourself some grace. Depression is so hard and it affects people in many different ways. I would first focus on your mental health and talk to your doctor or with a trusted friend.
Set realistic goals for yourself and see what works for you. Remember that even though you feel unhappy with your weight, it does not define you. Reaching whatever “number” you have in mind will not automatically make you happier. What will make you happier is developing healthy habits – making sure you are eating nutritious food to fuel your body, moving and exercising your body to become stronger, giving yourself rest to allow your body and mind to take a break, and allowing yourself to enjoy the treats that life has to offer us. By doing this, you won’t just be losing weight, but building healthy and sustainable habits. It will take time, and progress might be slow – that’s good! A slow and solid building of your foundation will ensure that it’s strong and secure. You can do this! Finally, remember you’re not alone in this. Group exercise classes are fun and will expand your social circle. Take a walk with a friend or family member to get some quality time in. And of course, talk with your doctor, who can assist you with any diet and exercise goals to make sure you’re staying healthy in your journey. Good luck!
