I’m a bit confused by “yes we live in the United States”. Who is “we”? Reddit is global.
This has happened to me years ago when I dated men. This is in the UK btw. But less of an implication that I wasn’t safe, more like a “if he’s not with you he doesn’t deserve you” type thing. I they think we will magically say “oh you’re right, he’s not with me, he must be a terrible person, you would be a much better boyfriend!!”. Obviously it won’t work but some men are just creeps.
