Why do you feel it necessary to explain why you made an edit to a reply on Reddit?

So that I’m not changing my arguments and making the people who up- or down-voted appear like they approve/disapprove something they didn’t.

Really minor typos, I don’t always bother, but more substantial stuff usually gets a note.
