Where on a vehicle would a tracker be?

Wheel well, bumper, underside on the frame somewhere, possibly under the hood or in the trunk likely tucked behind things like carpeting or the spare tire or the sparkplug cables, suppose it could also just be tossed under a seat or shoved in between things in the cabin.
