Where is the line between leaving on read and ghosting?

I feel like ghosting implies prior communication maybe. Like if you have somebody convinced you have some connection and will be open to further communication, then stop responding, you ghosted them. Then if there’s someone you don’t respond to in the first place, you left them on read.

If that’s not the difference, then I don’t think there is one.
