What’s something you think most people pretend to support/not support, just so they can appear morally upstanding?

My follow up question is why would it matter?

Public perception of a cause is dramatically effected by how much support people do or do not show for it. The idea of hating on ”slacktivists” for “virtue signaling” seems counter productive.

Showing support, even in the most passive ineffective ways does genuinely make a difference. So who cares if the person showing support actually believes in it or not?

The net result is the same.
