What’s something that you thought was cool as a kid, but was actually completely normal?

Having my own car. Then I moved to Atlanta and allowed the commute to/from work slowly drain the life out of me.

I no longer want a car, but would rather have *good* public transportation, to be honest. Or everything being within walking distance.
