Has anyone ever wondered why Apple hasn’t attempted making a proper social media site/app?
I’d assume it would take off quite well, even if it was exclusive to iPhone/Mac/iPad and they could learn a lot from how google handled Google+ to avoid some serious mistakes regarding integration into the ecosystem. It would have the benefit of locking users deeper into the ecosystem if it was exclusive to Apple in a similar way iMessage is for some people now.
Genuinely curious how everyone thinks this would go, and what its primary focus/UI would be like.
My theory would be:
It could be developed using iMessage as a base, have a Instagram/Snapchat UI elements with a primary focus on photos and videos ‘Shot on iPhone’ and would be marketed using the old ‘Privacy. That’s iPhone’ tricks of the past.
