What should everyone experience at least once?

Having someone be proud of something you tried your best on.

Also the joy of helping a child achieve one of their goals.

I once taught a boy to write his name and the sense of joy and accomplishment on his face when he did it without my help for the first time was worth every hour spent on it and more.
