There are various options for expressing causation. Today they all seem to have been forgotten except one, but that one continually changes. When I was a kid we said:
“The reason I went to vet school is…”
Then it became:
“The reason why I went to vet school is…”
Then:
“The reason why I went to vet school is because…”
Then:
“The reason as to why I went to vet school is because…”
And I’m over here like:
“I went to vet school to learn about animals.”
I just don’t see a reason for this moron’s arms race of increasing complexity without saying more.
