What is Treecember?
Treecember is One Tree Planted’s month-long holiday season celebration of everything that nature does for us — and everything we can do for nature. It’s our way of celebrating the holidays and making them just a little greener. We take this time to honor the important things in life, like friends and family, giving to others, and appreciating nature.
Some of our favorite things to do during Treecember include taking actions to celebrate sustainably, exploring the great outdoors, and gifting trees. We invite you to celebrate with us in any way that works for you!
This holiday season, we’re planting trees for forest fire recovery in British Columbia, Idaho, Ghana, and Portugal. These areas have been severely affected by forest fires and aren’t able to recover a healthy ecosystem on their own. With so much fire damage, reforestation is essential to catalyze the environmental recovery process. The trees are carefully planted to prevent invasive species from colonizing burn scars and restore quality habitat for native biodiversity.
Here’s How to Gift a Tree This Holiday Season, Step by Step
Planting a tree is as easy as visiting onetreeplanted.org and selecting “Gift Trees.” You’ll tell us how many to plant, and select the perfect e-card to go with it. Pop in the recipient’s email, write them a personal message, and you’re good to go! Your recipients will even get a certificate to show the impact of their gift. You can plant as many trees as you’d like, whether it’s a single tree or a small forest! When you gift a tree for the holidays, you’ll know that your gift is making a powerful impact for people, wildlife, and the environment.

Select the number of trees you’d like to plant on behalf of your recipient. You can plant as many trees as you would like!

3. customize your card and let us know when to send it
Enter the sender and recipient’s name, the recipient’s email address and a custom message. The card will be sent on the day of your choosing.
