A HUGE, and I mean absolutely HUGE step would be for people to educate themselves about firearms. So many people want to just ban things without even knowing, and in most cases caring, about what it is they are banning.
The next step would be for firearm owners to acknowledge that there is a serious fucking problem in this country, and by ignoring it not only are you making it worse, but you’re turning public opinion away from your side, doing nothing more than escalating the eventual ban from people who know nothing about firearms.
