What is considered the first punk rock song?

I think you kind of have to go with The Stooges, I Wanna Be Your Dog.

This isn’t to say they are. I really don’t think you can really pin down a “first” when it comes to musical style or genre. As many have pointed out, The Who, The Kinks, Link Wray and many others can lay a claim, but I don’t think you can honestly call the songs that are “punkish” or have that punk sound, a specifically Punk song, because they weren’t Punk Bands.
