What is a feature taken away from a modern appliance that you think we should still have?

Repairability… It seems like a lot of things are designed to be thrown away and replaced rather than repaired, and easily at that. It seems like older things lasted a lot longer, and people actually had the ability to learn how to repair their stuff (granted things are a lot more complex now).
