I wouldn’t say “hurts” but is a time to check my ego. I have a very high quality job offer, one I’ve been hunting for a near decade, but it would take me away for at least half a year of training then assignment somewhere not up to me in the nation. But I have my first baby on the way so I put them on hold to focus on my family. Again not like a “hurt” but more of a time for me to be an adult and be there for my wife and soon to be child. Work is not as important as being there with my loved ones.
