I think it’s a childish notion. But only if you are actively working to get people cancelled.
Just like what you like, don’t support what you don’t like. That’s the basics of it. Trying to get others on board to “cancel” people is silly, IMO.
If the person did something truly heinous, then they’ll naturally take a major hit as people all individually decide to stop supporting them. You don’t need to proselytize.
Also, creating a “cancel culture” will also embolden some contrarians to support that person harder, just to fight the “cancel bullshit” as they see it. You could end up giving that person an even bigger platform.
If it’s a legal issue, let the law handle things. Otherwise, vote with your own wallet and time. But don’t burden other people with your opinions, IMO. It’s annoying.
