What do the redditors in the USA think about the Brittney Griner prisoner exchange with Russia?

I think trading a global arms dealer known for arming terrorist organizations and perpetuating genocides, for a lady that plays basketball and doesn’t know not to break the law in authoritarian enemy states- is a terrible idea.

Seriously- I cannot stress enough how awful of a trade this is. If I were the prisoner in Russia, and a sitting president told me that they secured my release by guaranteeing thousands more would die- I would punch him/her in the face.
