What did you buy that broke straight away?

I shattered a couple fishing rods the first time I took them out. It’s easy to break them, get their tips caught in a door or pinch them sideways and BAM.

But two of them from the same manufacturer blew apart on me under far less than even normal stress, and I’d stupidly not kept the receipts. One was when I was simply reeling in a fish, the other shattered when I was trying to set a hook.

These were Shakespeare’s “Ugly Stix” and supposed to be a pretty decent brand.

The company never returned my contact request asking for replacements, so they’re on my forever-shitlist.
