Okay, I’m don’t work in that industry but I believe that they should get higher wages and that tips should not be expected. It gives too much power to the costumer such that they do not deserve. Without tipping being expected, if a costumer says, “you’re treating me badly, this is going off your tip.”, then the waiter doesn’t have to be annoyed about that.
