Users of Reddit who is missing an eye; do you have to keep a artificial eye in the socket or can you leave it empty? Do you need to clean the socket out from time to time? And if so, how does that feel?

Not me but my s/o, she had cancer years ago and lost her eye, she has more of a contact than a whole fake eye and she can take it out, underneath that is her actual eye
