The 54th session of the United Nations Statistical Commission will be held in person in New York from 28 February to 3 March 2023. UN Women will be well-positioned to ensure strong representation of gender statistics across the programme of work of the Commission, through a number of strategic interventions.


 

Positioning household surveys for the next decade: enhancing the interoperability and integration of household surveys

The Inter-Secretariat Working Group on Household Surveys (ISWGHS) is organizing a series of webinars around eight technical priority areas and the enabling environment identified by a position paper

This side event is the first of the webinar series, focusing on technical priority 1 on enhancing the interoperability and integration of household surveys. The webinar will focus on four key areas:(1) improving accessibility of other data sources for integration; (2) fostering data interoperability by design; (3) establishing a total quality framework for data integration; and (4) maintaining high ethical standards and data confidentiality.

This event forms part II of the Friday Seminar series on emerging issues. It will cover current practices of citizens’ contributions to data; the role of NSOs in advancing civil society engagement in data production and use; and aligning non-state data quality with official statistics.
