I used to know somebody who was a music journalist and she loved the band Metric. She had her fair share of people having a bad day, or just straight up rude, so she was used to it. She told me how generally awful Emily Haines can be with people. Very blunt and standoffish at times. All of their interactions were really pleasant, but she watched this happen multiple times, when she got to go on various tours and was offered backstage passes. I know she found it really off-putting and she had to remind herself to separate the people from their music.
