The President of the US openly demanded he be kept in power by telling his justice Department to claim it was legal to stay in office, by demanding the VP not participate in transferring power, by trying to seize voting machines and having aides try to report false electoral results, and demanding GOP states simply through our Democratic votes and “find” more Republican ones. When Congress and the VP wouldn’t go along with it, he rallied a mob to attack Congress with intent to kidnap Congresmembers, who were backed up by armed militias that had planted pipe bombs to lure away police.
You don’t get to defend and downplay that by calling every protest you don’t agree with a “coup”. No one is dumb enough to fall for it.
