US Embassy Cashier Jobs in Kampala – Uganda
Duties:
This position is located in the Financial Office at U.S. Embassy Kampala. The incumbent serves as the full time Principal Class B Cashier responsible for a full range of cashiering duties that include; collections, disbursements, replenishments, accommodation and reverse accommodation exchanges and more. The Cashier is responsible for a total advance as annually approved as well as entering data into RFMS/C and other budget and software platforms which support Mission cashier operations.
Qualifications and Evaluations
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance is required.
Requirements:
At least two years progressively responsible experience in voucher examining, accounting, cashiering or bookkeeping is required.
Job Knowledge:
Requires a very good working knowledge of collection and disbursing functions in an automated accounting system.
Position requires good knowledge of local banking rules and regulations as well as an understanding of local laws and practices for banking and regulations as well as an understanding of local laws and practices for banking and financial institutions.
Skills AND Abilities:
The ability to work independently, high level of honesty and integrity, courtesy, promptness and deference to customers, time management, ability to maintain a well-organized office, very good computer skills, especially in the use of word processing, database, excel spreadsheets, possess strong organizational skills, pay close attention to details, and have an ability to foresee, and articulate orally and in writing problems or opportunities within budget constraints to senior management; must be able to comprehend and logically apply complicated regulations and procedures and required to possess excellent public relations skills essential to work directly with FSC Charleston, post management in the embassy, chiefs of sections of all serviced agencies and their staff. The Cashier is required to responsibly handle large sums of cash and identify counterfeit bills.
Qualifications:
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
