Main Purpose of the Job:
To ensure that the quality of services provided is within acceptable standards for the entire project. This is to be achieved through the department strategic objective of facilitating the Integration of Quality AssuranceContinuous Quality Improvement principles and functionalize Quality Assurance System across TAF (AIC) supported
Key Outputs:
QA activities effective implemented.
Capacity improvement of the teams conducted.
Documented best practices/change packages.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Compile and disseminate QI work plans, budgets and reports
Under the supervision of the Program Director and in collaboration with the Clinical teams, build capacity of health care workers, supervisors and administrators in modern Quality Improvement
(QI) methods
Lead the development and revision of quality and performance improvement tools for use in the
SOROTI region clinical program, in collaboration with the clinical team
Develop and implement a SOROTI region quality of HIV care plan, in collaboration with the
clinical team;
Identify quality improvement training and mentoring needs and conduct training as appropriate; conduct QI coaching and mentoring in all SOROTI region project districts
Organize peer support and learning workshops for application of QI improvement methods
Develop and implement patient flow analysis exercises for improvement of operational efficiency
Provide technical support for meaningful consumer participation in QI activities at health
facilities
Collaborate with MOH Quality Assurance unit in implementation of national quality management
program within SOROTI region supported districts
Work closely with the knowledge management staff to oversee the process of documenting and
disseminating best practices
Ensure QI methods are applied across all operating systems at facilities as well as clinical services;
Supervise and appraise the Quality Assurance Officers
Any other duties as and when assigned by your immediate supervisor
Person Specifications
Minimum Academic Qualification:
Masters in Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Sciences, Population Studies or a related field, clinical degree preferred.
Training in Quality improvement principles
Training in project planning and management will be an added advantage.
Required experience and skills:
Minimum of 6 years work experience in the health sector; 3years should be in quality improvement; Monitoring and evaluation with a reputable organization with HIV/AIDS experience;;
Ability to analyze data;
Ability to work independently and take initiative;
Good report writing skills;
Familiar with MoH QAD relevant documents especially National QI framework and Strategic plan;
Demonstrated competence with PEPFAR, CDC, and/or USAID monitoring and evaluation systems
and reporting requirements;
Strong verbal and written English language skills and Good computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point.
