About the Role
Reporting to the Director for People and Culture, our client is seeking an HRBP to work with the People and Culture team to build our organizational capacity & ensure we are creating an environment in which our teammates can realize their full potential.
To succeed in this role, the right candidate will bring knowledge & experience in supporting the Uganda team across key functional areas, including talent acquisition, onboarding, culture, performance management, employee relations, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Project managing complex and scaling programs, serving as the key connector between the business and the People team and functional teams such as Sales, Operations, Finance, IT, and others that we must partner with to deliver programs and processes within the business.
Effectively managing constant change across the business, through communication, advocacy, collaboration, and planning.
Partner with the Director of People and Culture to build processes and policies, execute the business, and manage change across the company.
Execute the SunCulture Talent Acquisition process through direct hire or in partnership with recruitment partners to continually hire and onboard the best people for the company.
Follow best practices through the completion of viable and extensive background checks to ensure due diligence completion for new hires.
Manage the onboarding of new hires to ensure seamless integration and optimize new hire productivity.
Run 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins for new hires and use this data to enhance the onboarding process as required from time to time.
Ensure day-to-day operations of People-related functions are addressed in a timely, efficient, and proactive manner. The objective is to deliver transactions in alignment with agreed HR service standards specifications.
Ensure data integrity of the companys HRIS tools and systems.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of employee data and employee documentation.
Track and update the People Team dashboard with departmental metrics on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Operate within the prescribed expense and budget allocations.
Manage the off boarding process for employees.
Provide oversight and guidance on the Performance Management process.
Does This Sound like you?
Bachelor’s degree in HR, social science, or other HR-related fields.
Possession of a Certified HR qualification, PGD HRM, or Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
At least 5 years of proven experience in human resource management with a deep understanding of the core functions.
Working knowledge of Ugandan labor laws, employment legislation, and HR best practices.
Experience working in a start-up environment preferred.
Must exhibit high levels of professionalism, integrity & ethical values at all times.
Ability to maintain confidentiality on all issues & use judgment to execute duties & responsibilities.
Experience in HRIS, HR analytics, and other relevant People Analytics applications.
Excellent written, oral & interpersonal communication skills
Objectivity & the ability to apply People Team’s guidelines & regulations in a fair & consistent manner.
