Our client, a Fast-growing boutique hotel in Nairobi, is looking to recruit a Steward. The successful candidate will be required to be a reliable, dedicated, and hardworking individual with a passion for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The successful candidate must be keen on maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, supporting the kitchen staff, and ensuring the overall efficiency of kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, and kitchen equipment by hand or using dishwashers.

Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen and dishwashing areas.

Assist chefs and kitchen staff in basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and cleaning ingredients.

Collect and dispose of kitchen and food waste, ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed.

Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.

Clean and maintain kitchen appliances and equipment.

Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.

Requirements

High school Certificate or equivalent.

Previous experience as a Steward or in a similar role is a plus.

Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Physical stamina to perform tasks such as standing, lifting, and carrying heavy items.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding kitchen environment.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and order.
