Flat6Labs Cairo Investment Associate Jobs in Kenya
About the role
As Flat6Labs Investment Associate, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and oversight of the Flat6Labs’ Africa Seed Fund portfolio, as well as supporting the fund raising process and business development opportunities in the region.
This role involves maintaining effective networking, researching technology sectors, executing financial analysis, and helping to structure transactions. It offers a dynamic opportunity for a passionate individual who is keen on entrepreneurship, new technologies, and supporting new ventures in Africa.
Main Responsibilities:
Assist in creating and managing the portfolio companies of Flat6Labs, including maintaining and generating periodic reports on their business and financial position, and disseminating these reports to different stakeholders.
Communicate and report the status of the portfolio to top management, the board, investors, and different stakeholders.
Maintain smooth communication channels between the companies, lawyers, and regulatory authorities when needed.
Manage deal prospects from the first conversation through the term sheet to deal close, coordinating resources to assess and close the deal.
Support the structuring of the fundraising process for Flat6Labs’ new funds, including drafting required legal documents, creating investment decks, conducting fundraising roadshows, and forging new partnerships.
Lead and coordinate deal analysis, financial modeling, and the due diligence process.
Form hypotheses on investment opportunities based on both key facts and market intuition.
Create clear and concise investment memos for the investment committee.
Continually monitor and investigate macro and micro industry trends to recommend new sectors of technology for evaluation and potential investment.
Assess growth and business development opportunities for Flat6Labs.
Assist in creating business development leads, sales-pitch decks, and closing deals.
Help build and maintain Flat6Labs’ network of local and regional venture capitalists (VCs) and investors.
Identify any gaps in the investment process or financial risks and provide recommendations for minimizing such risks.
Follow up on the follow-on fundraising process for Flat6Labs’ portfolio companies and generate reports about prospect deals and negotiated terms.
Build and maintain a database of share distribution and movement within each of the startup companies.
Requirements
At least 4-7 years of experience in venture capital, private equity or investment banking.
Major in Finance/ Business/ Economics studies.
Excellent command of English.
Solid understanding of financial modeling and budgeting set ups.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent technical understanding for financial software packages like Microsoft Excel, etc..
Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management and planning skills.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
High sense of ownership and responsibility and maintain excellent follow up skills.
