Job summary
The position of Research Manager is a full-time role based in Kampala, reporting directly to the Executive Director. The Research Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and conducting research activities within the organization.
Responsibilities and duties
Manage and oversee all research projects, ensuring they align with the organization’s objectives and are conducted efficiently and ethically.
Develop research project plans, including objectives, methodologies, timelines, and budgets.
Supervise data collection efforts, which may involve surveys, interviews, focus groups, or other data-gathering methods.
Lead the analysis of research data, employing appropriate statistical and analytical tools.
Prepare comprehensive research reports, summarizing findings and making actionable recommendations.
Ensure all research activities adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance research initiatives and share insights.
Manage research resources effectively, including budgets, equipment, and personnel.
[Qualifications, Skills and Experience
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Epidemiology, Public Health, social sciences, research, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in successfully managing research projects, encompassing project planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
Capability to work collaboratively within a team and engage effectively with external stakeholders.
Highly organized, with robust project management skills to ensure efficient workflow.
Diligence in maintaining attention to detail while meeting project deadlines.
