Job Summary
The Division Coordinator will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Division branch office. S/he will be responsible for networking, coordination, and representation of OVC KAMPALA and ROM at the Division level.
S/he will work to support the Division OVC KAMPALA team (Social workers, social protection and economic strengthening supervisors, Field Assistants, M&E Assistants, and Data Entrants) and community structures (CBTs, PSWs, SINO facilitators, ECD facilitators, and NMN instructors) to ensure quality service delivery and ensuring that Division set targets are realized.
Responsibilities and Duties
Take the lead in the production and consolidation of both external and internal division program reports and review reports to ensure good quality reporting before submission including weekly briefers, activity reports, and quarterly reports.
Support the functionality of OVC coordination structures at the facility level and community levels and maintain good working relations with government Division officials.
Working closely with the Program leadership to take full responsibility for program risk management by analyzing data, anticipating, identifying, and mitigating risk factors.
Support OVC case management and beneficiary assessments to track progress toward graduation.
On a monthly basis set performance target in line with technical standards, best practices, and USAID/PEPFAR guidelines.
Performance tracking and monitoring to ensure achievement of set targets in the required timelines.
Strengthen the provision of high-quality healthcare packages for OVCs and their households to avert the effects of HIV and AIDS
Act as the primary accounting officer for the affairs of the Division office by providing detailed reporting on financial and other resources of the office.
Periodically conduct field visits and carry out support supervision to the community team to ensure quality OVC service delivery.
Lead the training, mentorship, and capacity-building initiatives among the ROM OVC Kampala activity team and community cadres.
Strengthen reporting on OVC activities through the National OVC Management Information System, funder databases, and set District/division systems.
Organize Division case Conferences with the Division Community development officers, as well as mobilize, and coordinate monthly meetings with Para-social Workers;
Support functionality of OVC coordination structures such as the Division child wellbeing committees at the Division level and in the communities
Conduct participatory OVC services and resources mapping exercise to identify all existing community, CSO, public and private sector service providers within the Division.
Build and maintain positive and effective relations between the organization and stakeholders and other related organizations and institutions in the Division.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
An ideal candidate for this position should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
A postgraduate qualification in project management will be an added advantage.
At least 6 years’ consistent experience in a technical advisory or support role with a large-scale NGO.
Awareness and familiarity with government policies and strategies on OVC.
Demonstrable training and mentorship skills.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication and negotiation skills. Fluent in written and spoken English.
Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations.
Ability to maintain performance expectations and strong working relationships in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically & physically stressful environments
Experience with and enthusiasm for on-the-job training.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet) required.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to deliver results.
Desire to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
