Job Summary
• As a Partner, you will take responsibility for driving success, exploiting competitive advantage, and leaving a legacy of a more valuable firm for tomorrow’s Partners. This will be done by contributing to and implementing the firm’s strategy.
• Audit Partner is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction, oversight, and management of audit engagements for the firm’s clients.
• The Partner is accountable for maintaining high-quality audit services, nurturing client relationships, and contributing to the firm’s growth and profitability.

Responsibilities
Markets
• Acts as an ambassador of Grant Thornton and creates opportunities to protect, maintain and raise the reputation of the firm.
• Develops and implements the marketing plan for their service line to realize competitive advantage, driving leadership in our chosen markets.
• Develops and maintains strong, long-term internal and external relationships through effective communication, trust-building, and understanding of client needs, uses firm wide platforms to share knowledge and strengthen networks.
• Demonstrates the required level of excellence in their specific market or technical area in line with the firm’s competencies.
• Creates and maintains good networks and represents the firm in various clients’ board meetings, identifies opportunities to expand services and provides valuable insights to clients.
Clients
• Ensures that the service line delivers the highest quality of service in accordance with the Grant Thornton Methodology.
• Maximizes client satisfaction.
• Leads teams on assignments, or delegates this to others where appropriate.
• Shares knowledge and time, working with other partners to achieve a One Firm approach in selling and delivering services to the firm’s clients.
• Has impactful business discussions with clients, demonstrating deep business and sector understanding and adds value by providing strategic and commercial input into clients’ business issues.
• Regularly reviews key clients in portfolio using firm’s client service tools and implements plans to enhance/protect the relationship.
• Maintains good relationships with key clients and key stakeholders of these clients.
• Brings a global perspective to their advice making full use of the Grant Thornton International network.
• Reviews and guides the team on technical aspects of complex clients and ensures that all assurance standards are strictly maintained including the use of LEAP as well as all tools recommended by GTI.
• Takes
the lead on dealing with large, technically complex clients with minimal Senior Partner’s input.
• Acts as a point of reference for technical/sector knowledge.
People
• Provides clear leadership to the team and inspires staff to realize their full potential.
• Delivers on the firm’s business objectives by retaining top talent and ensuring the right people are assigned to the right work.
• Ensures clear performance goals and objectives are set and communicated that are aligned with the firm’s strategy.
• Identifies resourcing needs, supports the recruitment process to select talented people and ensures that new team members are properly oriented into their roles.
• Gives regular honest timely feedback, recognizes high performance, conducts formal appraisals on time (including their own) and works with the individuals to identify relevant learning and development interventions to improve their performance.
• Identifies opportunities to develop individuals to prepare them for success in future roles and makes use of appropriate career interventions to stretch and challenge individuals; encourages individuals in the team to seize opportunities.
• Mentors, trains, and develops audit staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• Organises, attends, and contributes to departmental and other Grant Thornton meetings.
• Demonstrates commitment to the role and the team by acting as a role model and taking on additional responsibilities from the wider Grant Thornton when necessary.
Operations
• Leads and manages a team of audit professionals, ensuring that audit engagements are planned, executed, and completed in accordance with professional standards and within budgeted timelines.
• Promotes and maintains a culture of audit quality and adherence to professional standards within the audit team.
• Implements and oversees quality control processes to minimize audit errors and risks.
• Delivers an increasingly profitable and sustainable business in line with budgets by ensuring processes are efficient and the business is properly geared.
• Has overall responsibility for maintaining and growing the revenue and profitability of the business.
• Ensures that the firm’s reputation is protected from adverse commercial, regulatory, or legal failure arising from activities of the service line. Participates in proposal development and client presentations.
• Stays updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in auditing and accounting.
Qualifications
• CPA/ACCA qualified professional
Details of experience
• 10+ years’ experience in external audit.
• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification in audit preferably with highly reputable accounting firms.
• Prior experience as an Audit Partner or equivalent leadership role in a reputable accounting firm.
• Thorough knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
