Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized university;
Professional qualification in Environmental, Health and Safety with a bias in petroleum operations;
Membership in good standing of a relevant professional body, where applicable; and
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Responsibilities
Review Environment and Social Impact Assessment study reports;
Participate in the development of standards and codes of practice for the energy and petroleum operations;
Respond to inquiries and correspondences on matters pertaining to environment, health and safety;
Implement Government policies and directives on Environment, Health and Safety;
Participate in Environment, Health and Safety audits and draft reports;
Ensure complete restoration of sites used for energy and petroleum operations;
Prepare quarterly and annual performance reports on processes necessary for the effective enforcement of environment, health and safety standards and codes;
Implement Board decisions on matters pertaining environment, safety and health;
Adequately deal with customer complaints on matters environment, health and safety; and
Attend and participate in various internal and external committees as designated.
